Auditions

 

If you have a passion for acting, singing, and dancing, you may be just the person we're looking for in an upcoming show! Auditions are generally held six to eight weeks prior to a production's opening night.


Audition Appointments:

All auditions are by appointment only. Audition appointments can be scheduled through the box office as soon as the Hale newsletter is emailed to you.  Make sure to sign up on our actor newsletter list to receive notices. (The sign-up button is located on the home page) Please call the box office at (480) 497-1181 for any further information. All audition information is subject to change without notice. 

Union & Gas Stipend:
The Hale Centre Theatre is a Non-Union house.  Your time here is on a volunteer basis; however, there is a gas stipend of $300.00 and $150.00 for children's shows.


REHEARSALS & PERFORMANCES:

Rehearsal Times:

Monday-Thursday: 7:00pm –10:00pm
Saturday: 10:00am – 1:00pm. 

Performance Times:
Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening: 7:30pm
Saturday Matinee: 3:00pm 

2008 Hale Theatre Production 

HALE CENTRE THEATRE TO HOLD AUDITIONS FOR  A CHRISTMAS CAROL

Hale Centre Theatre will hold auditions Oct. 6th  for Charles Dickens  A Christmas Carol playing December 3 - 23 Monday – Saturday nights with Saturday matinees. The first read through is Oct. 11th.  The show is produced by David and Corrin Dietlein, directed by David Dietlein, choreographed by Cambrian James music directed by Michael Bryce.  Be prepared to sing 16 bars of music and dance.  Accompanist provided.  Children will not need to dance or sing at the audition. Children audition times will be from 3PM – 5PM. Adult audition times are from 6PM – 8PM.  Some actors will have multiple roles. Auditions will be held at the theater located at 50 West Page Avenue in Gilbert. Auditions are by appointment only. Call 480-497-1181.

CASTING:

Mrs. Cratchit : 30 - 40. Strong, kind. Tiny Tim's mother.

Cratchit Children: 10 - 16 Happy, sweet, loving, energetic.

Tiny Tim: 6 - 9. Male. Optimistic, gentle spirited. Cratchit's crippled son.

Christmas Past: - 20 + Female. Ethereal, whimsical, sensitive.

Fred: 25 - 35. Full of love, Scrooge's nephew, patient, fun.

Narrators: 25 - 50 Male and Female. Strong, resonant voices.

Mr. Fezzywig:  35 - 55 Robust, optimistic, full of the Christmas spirit.

Mrs. Fezzywig : 30 - 50 Robust, loving, energetic wife.

Dick Wilken's : 17 - 22 Young Scrooge's best friend. Energetic. Stage fight combat a plus.

Charwomen: 30 - 50 Character roles, energetic.

Young Scrooge: 20. Fledging miser. Ambitious, selfish.

Belle: 18+. Beautiful, kind, sensitive. Young Scrooge's Fiancé.

Boy Scrooge: 12+ Lonely, quiet, sensitive.

Little Fan:  10 -14. Female. Happy, sweet. Boy Scrooge's little sister.

Chorus:  Age 16 and up male and female singers/actors/dancers. Many character roles to be cast from chorus.
